Colombo gets symbol of Crown because of Ports City

The newly prepared map of the Colombo City by government surveyor department was handed over to Mr. Gayan Karunatlleka, Minister of Lands and Parliamentary Reforms by surveyor general Mr. P.M.P. Udayakantha at a function held at Narahenpita Surveyor

Department yesterday (31).

According to contours of this map the Colombo Port City too has been depicted and it incidentally takes on the shape of a crown. With Colombo Port City, information pertaining to development projects, expressways too are included in the new map.

Preparation of Sri Lanka's new map with fresh changes was commenced in 2015 and it was stated at this function that 72 of 92 parts of the map is completely over and that another 20 parts are in the process of being finished. It was mentioned that the complete map of Sri Lanka would be brought to a close towards the end of this year.
