Beware of the hatred spread by fake FB page in the name of Ex-Muslims of Sri Lanka

We, Ex-Muslims of Sri Lanka (EMSL) was formed in December 2016 and have been operating courteously so far, but it was brought to our notice about a Facebook page being operated with our name to spread racism and hatred among Sri Lankans.

Even though the individual identities of the members and the office bearers of Ex-Muslims of Sri Lanka (EMSL) withheld for the safety concerns, EMSL is the one and only organisation operates in Sri Lanka for the irreligious individuals who have left Islam. EMSL operates in collaboration with other international Ex-Muslim organisations and we are an affiliated body of Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain. (Link : http://ift.tt/2GJpRqP )

Ex-Muslims of Sri Lanka never intend to express anything against innocent Sri Lankan Muslims and we never spread hatred against Muslims and we insist that we are also from the same community. EMSL stand shoulder to shoulder with Sri Lankan Muslims during critical situations and our contradictions and disagreements are not targeting Sri Lankan Muslims, but our major issues are all about the religion, Islam. Protecting the freedom and safety of those who left Islam after realising that Islam is not guidance from any gods and encouraging those who are willing to leave Islam are the main concerning areas of the EMSL.

Even though we often present constructive criticism and questionings about the Islamic beliefs, Qur’an, Hadees, prophecy and Islamic theology in order to encourage free thoughts and critical thinking among Muslims, we firmly state that we never express and encourage any kind of hatred or violence or racism against Lankan Muslims or against any other communities. Furthermore, we urge the public to beware of any sort of false propaganda carried out by fake pages and fake accounts with our name.
