Nadee who was divorced, files legal action

Tele actress Nadeeka Chandrasekera had said that the person who entered into marriage with her was already married and had thus obtained divorce from him some days ago has subsequently filed legal action against him once more. She has mentioned that her husband has prohibited her from acting after she gets married to him. In this context she has also said that as a result of such
objections and taboos she had thus lost her income because of her professional activities were hampered.

As a consequence she demands compensation from her millionaire husband  saying that she would have continued making her own earnings if she was to engage in her employment.

Her former referred to husband who thus appeared before courts was Yasantha Samaraweera living in Panadura. On this occasion the prosecution party, tele drama artiste had forwarded through her lawyers a host of relevant documents which could confirm his assets relating to his local and foreign dealings. What she testified in the presence of courts was that she had secured awards of tributes for a long period of time from a number of organisations including 'Raigam' and 'Sumathi' as the best tele drama artiste. Testifying further what she said was that her husband has separated from her at present and had got involved in another marriage; that because she has had to live a solitary life for sometime and as a result she is facing a helpless situation. She also stated that the respondent is carrying on a number of local as well as foreign businesses and exposed that he is carrying on a trading concern under her name too. The respondent who exclaimed that the respondent who is a millionaire businessman is constantly engaged in foreign travel and thereby earns a large sum of money monthly. The prosecutor under these circumstances has claimed maintenance from him through courts.

Magistrate and Additional District Judge Mr. Prasanna Alwis has postponed further hearing till April 5th and thus ordered the couple to appear before courts on that day.
