Speaking at a function at megapolis and western development ministry, he said the middle class could not have specific borders as skilled personnel and labourers have now become its members. That will be a great strength for economic development. From the present middle income status, Sri Lanka can achieve higher middle income status in the future, he said.
The UNP and the SLFP have held talks on a new programme and a set of proposals will be prepared soon, the PM added.
