IGP must step down - Mujibur Rahman

The parliament minister Mujibur Rahman questions the police and the special forces in their attempts to maintain law and order in the country. The parliament minister Mujibur Rahman questions the police and the special forces in their attempts to maintain law and order in the country.

The minister questions the double standards of the same forces which defeated the ruthless L.T.T.E. organization and has failed to uphold peace and harmony in communal riots in the country.

The minister further pointed that there is a vast political support backing up these riots.

“A small group of people was able to take the law to their own hands and destroy lives, property and the environment. Due to these circumstances the police IGP should step down. We elected this government to live in peace, but the government failed us. Our hard work is being destroyed for which we worked hard for two and a half years. Both the president and the minister of law and order should take responsibility for this situation” said the minister while answering the press at Colombo.
