SLFP wants PM to resign

SLFP wants PM to resign

The SLFP ministers’ attempt is to blame all weaknesses, failures etc. of the government led by the president on the PM and wash their hands off it, while continuing with the government without him.

A no-confidence motion against the PM means the entire government has lost confidence. Either all its MPs should get together and protect the PM, or resign en masse.

As they have been saying, the SLFP ministers cannot oppose the no-confidence motion, and they want the PM to resign. Knowing that the PM will not do that, they are trying to use it as an excuse to support the no-confidence motion. They have no feeling for the country. The SLFP’s decision is due to be announced at today’s cabinet meeting.
