Suresh Subramaniam to contest for the National Olympic Committee post!

 

 "I am confident that I will always launch many programs to encourage talented and full-time athletes," he said, adding that he believes that the Olympic Committee will be able to bring honour and dignity to Sri Lanka in the future.

"The speed, the greatness and the strength of a  athletic contest is in the heart of an athlete". If federations want to nourish and develop this interest, the sports federations must be stronger and more adventurous. It requires financial support to make sure that it is a multiple income. I am prepared to sacrifice my time and talent for  Sri Lanka for the betterment of our sports federations. "

Accordingly, to develop young sportsmen, sports administrators and sports coaches, to empower them to be financially independent and independent of each sporting convention, to get stronger financial support through the Olympic Games and the Olympic Movement through the Olympic Games Program,  to receive  sponsorship gratuity appointments, centralise all the National Olympic Committees and National Olympic Committee headquarters in the United Federation of all sports federations, to provide small offices and administrative facilities in the country are his  intent, MrSuresh Subramaniam said.

Further Mr Subramaniam added,to get Sri Lankan players to qualify at the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games, to give strong support to the NOC's to win medals, select a few games on  merit basis and bring honor to the country by attaining deserving and medal winning status  at the 2020 Olympics, sending our athletes to the  world's highest training centers for foreign training and sending them overseas  to assist national conferences, to bring in trainers, to help local trainers build and to train national conferences in highly competitive educational environments and to uphold accountability and transparency at the highest levels, to eliminate any factor that undermines the progress of the game are some of his primary objectives. 

The present Chairman of the National Olympic Committee Hemasiri Fernando was also present at the event. Representatives from several national associations including the Sri Lanka Tennis Association participated in the event.
