President Maithripala Sirisena has ordered the AG to immediately implement the commission’s recommendations. The AG held a discussion with his officials until 1.30 am today (24). In accordance with the decisions taken at the meeting, the law will first be enforced against Arjun Aloysius, Arjun Mahendran, Kasun Palisena and Ravi Karunanayake. All of them are accused of lying to the commission, and Aloysius and Palisena are additionally charged with deleting data to mislead the commission.
As Ravi is facing a bribery charge, the three others will be arrested before February 07.
Under the second stage of implementing the recommendations, the law will be enforced against a large number of politicians, it was decided at the meeting.
