In the end ... Sabitha's building ends up as Agricultural Ministry

The building of Agricultural Ministry situated at Rajagiriya for which a massive monthly amount was paid as having acquired it on the friendship of the husband of old cinema actress Sabitha Perera had created a big uproar saying that it was not utilised for any purpose.

Much questioning took place in parliament in this connection and what the Minister said recently was

that the rent incurred for that building was not a big sum of expenses as compared to other Ministries and that it was not possible to implement proceedings as a Ministry after going into occupation there because changes to be effected in its interior (partitioning) has still not been completed.

Whatever it is, perhaps after such activities have ended, what was reported yesterday was that the employees had reported for work at this building premises. The Ministry called 'Govi Jana Mandiraya' which was in operation at Rajamalwatta Road in Battaramulla upto now would no longer function there anymore and in future and it would be handed over for parliamentary activities of reconstruction work by the Navy.
