He also said India got Basil to launch the SLPP in order to divide the SLFP because it does not like what president Maithripala Sirisena does.

Namal also said, “Now, we should bow our heads, get friendly with Maithri and gain power of the SLFP again. Mark my words today, Uncle Basil and the SLPP will end up in the UNP by 2022. Therefore, we will play whatever game and gain power of the SLFP again.”
What he said thus means that he now has a certain ability to make out how political forces behave.
