Piyumi Hansamali for a main character in Indian cinema with Jackson ... 25 years after Yasodha

Pyumi Hansamali who has won a name as a star over the internet has been chosen as the main actress by Indian film director Anil Kumar for his next film 'Lucknow'. The main actor for the film has been chosen also from Sri Lanka and it is Jackson Anthony and in order to attend the premier festival

in this connection, Jackson and Piyumi has engaged on a tour of India. The film referred to is scheduled to be produced in the future.

Piyumi Hansamali has made a comment on her Facebook Page in this connection and has said that it is an honour for her to be selected for this film. She had also stated that the opportunity for her to act together with a stalwart in the Sri Lanka cinema too is a fortune to her. She expresses her gratitude to producer Beena Unikrishnan and director Anil Kumar for having helped her. She adds that after Yashodha Wimaladharma played the leading role in an Indian film in the year 1992 it is the second occasion that a person from Sri Lanka has achieved this position.
