DKP Dassanayake’s ‘disappearances of Sinhalese’ out

Ganehiralalage Shantha Samaraweera was a resident of Malwatte Kanda, Ekiriyala, Kegalle. His wife is Sinhakutti Arachchige Dhammika Damayanthi. He disappeared on 23.07.2010 while in the custody of Alawwa police. Submissions made under B 214/10 to the Warakapola magistrate say he had been at Gunsite camp run by Dassanayake, as per a statement given by naval rating Basnayake Mudiyanselage Wijekanthan. He gave evidence that Shantha too, was with him at the underground cell there.

The high court order C 105/17 CR under case no. 3313/13 on 8.03.2017 instructed the CID to investigate it. Investigations revealed that Shantha wrote in the wall of his cell his name, address and 25.07.2010, the date he was brought there. He was made to disappear on a contract given by Sabaragamuwa chief minister Mahipala Herath to Dassanayake, who was assisted in it by ex-DIG Vaas Gunawardena, who gave Shantha over to the Navy. All of them got together to kill another human being. Was Shantha too, a Tiger, according to the so-called patriots. Mahipala Herath should know it.

Prageeth Nisansala

Vithanaarachchige Don Prageeth Nisansala of no. 378/12, Devavarama, Yakalla, Ibbagamuwa was abducted in a vehicle similar to a police jeep on 31.10.2010. Details about him emerged during the investigation relating to Shantha. He too, was at Gunsite camp, Wijekanthan revealed in his statement.

The war ended in May 2009. What do the so called patriots who whitewash Dassayake say about these persons who were last seen at Gunsite camp? Contract killings cannot be covered up for long. Authorities should be able to enforce the law against the killers. Then, the politicians who ‘cleaned up’ under the cover of the war too, will be exposed.

What is Gammanpila up to?

At a recent hearing, the extremely racist politician Udaya Prabhath Gammanpila was seen trying to get Wijekanthan to say that what he said was not true. Whatever is said before the court now, Gammanpila cannot change what Shantha wrote on the wall of the cell at Gunsite camp. Gammanpila belongs to the gang that sold the war. Even today, he tries to be a national hero by using Dassanayake. Such persons cannot hide the truth forever.
