The UNP has no place for ex-mayor Kamil, but it is going to fill its candidates list with underworld figures and money launderers, reports say. Among them are the sons of Kimbula Ela Guna and Kudu Lal as well as money launderer Robinson’s son-in-law Vishnu. According to reports reaching us, ex-minister Ravi Karunanayake is behind their inclusion. Karunanayake has influenced to prevent nominations for Kamil and he wants to include his cronies. The UNP should understand that fielding persons involved in illegal activities as candidates to win elections is not valid any longer. Or else, it will have to lose its bastion, the CMC, this time.
