Student who meets with accident ... writes for O/L in hospital
A student who was to appear for the O/L examination which commenced last morning (12) faced a road accident near Meegoda Maha Vidyalaya examination hall and had to be admitted to Homagama basic hospital with injuries. Relevant authorities who considered the situation where he would be deprived of sitting for the exam had taken it to
thought and had gone to the extent of giving the said student the opportunity of sitting for the exam in the hospital itself.It was with the mediation of Mr. Palitha Weerasuriya, education director of Homagama who provided the opportunity for him to sit for the exam in a special cubicle in the hospital under instructions of examinations commissioner general.
The victim incidentally had been on his way with his brother on the motor bicycle heading towards Meegoda Maha Vidyalaya examination hall travelling from the direction of Watareka and at the moment of turning the motor bike to the right in front of the examination hall, a bus belonging to the CTB had struck the bike from behind and had further knocked on a three-wheeler and a small lorry which had been parked nearby, Meegoda Police say. Subsequently people in the area had admitted the injured student and his brother to Homagama Basic Hospital after which the student who received injuries close to his left eye and his hands and legs which were treated and later the student was given the opportunity of appearing for the exam this way.
