Sri Lanka lost in the match played with Bangla Desh today the16th under the Nidahas Trophy. Sri Lanka having batted first totalled 159 runs and Bangla Desh passed that figure only in the penultimate ball of the last over with a staggering six. As such, India who have been selected for the

Finals in the Nidahas Trophy has their rival Bangla Desh. This incidentally is the first occasion where Sri Lanka faced 3 defeats at a stretchin a triangular tournament in their motherland.

A controversy occured about a no ball in the final over of the game and in that instance the Bangla Desh team behaved in an indisciplined manner. However, at the end of the innings the Bangla Desh captain made his apologies in that respect. Towards the end of the match it was observed that Kusal Mendis was supposedly getting involved in some sort of a conflict and was seen being escorted into safety by a Bangla Desh supporter.

Bangla Desh managed to clinch this victory as a result of the batting attack launched by Thamil Iqbal and Mahamudulla. On the other hand it was Kusal Perera and Thisara Perera who collected the  most number of runs for Sri Lanka.
