Disciplinary action imposed on Visakha principal and 7 others because of irregularities of admitting students to grade one!
Ministry of Education which inquired into irregularities allegedly during admitting students to grade 1 of Visakha College, Bambalapitiya has resolved to take disciplinary action against principal Sandamali Aviruppola, persons of the interview board and 2 other persons connected to the staff.
Information about this particular incident of irregularity has come to light in the case of a secret
survey launched to investigate matters connected to acts of corruption and irregularities supposed to be taking place in instances of admitting children to popular schools in the island.Among other individuals among those subjected to penalisation are a teacher of the interview board, 2 Old Girls of Old Girls' Association and 1 official of the school development society, Ministry sources say. Education authorities have decided to suspend the person who was a suspect in forging signatures of personnel of the Education Ministry and to take disciplinary action in that regard while the person who was suspected as having prepared bogus documents is to be transferred to another school.
