He said that it has not been possible to make a significant change within state media during the past year and therefore failed to accurately convey information about government’s development programs to people.
He said this at an event held yesterday (16) to offer official appointment letters to new chairpersons and directors appointed for institutions operated by the media ministry.
The status quo of state media is relatively satisfactory than it used to be during the previous government era, the minister added. The minister emphasized that the duty of newly appointed chairpersons and directors should be conveying information about government’s work properly and attractively to people.
He further stressed that the state media must not at any point allow any action which may encourage racism and hinder reconciliation process. If such things happens, the chairperson of the relevant institution will be immediately terminated, the minister further said.
