Officials of the Kalamatiya and Rekawa wildlife offices, Tangalle Pradeshiya Sabha and the staff of Hotel Anantara participated.
The beach was cleared of large amounts of polythene and plastics.
Wildlife officials, together with the ICUN, are due to conduct a research on sites along the beach between Tangalle and Yala where turtles lay eggs.
