They were arrested in connection with shooting and killing 27 prisoners during the Welikada Prison clash in 2012.
The Criminal Investigation Department said to the court that further investigations are in progress. The lawyers had said to the court that the investigations appear to be slow and therefore they need to be quickened.
Committee to protect the rights of prisoners keeps complaining about not disclosing the contents of the investigation report on Welikada clashes which has been handed over to the PM.
