He said this during a meeting between him and the South Korean President Jae In at the White House. South Korea acts as the key host for the upcoming meeting between the US and North Korea.
However, North Korea has refused to continue discussions with South Korea two weeks ago.
Although the US President has not given conditions with regard to nuclear weapons in North Korea, when a journalist inquired, he stated denuclearization must be done.
However, North Korea has stated the summit in Singapore may be cancelled if the US takes unilateral decisions with regard to disarming.
Political critics say that the existing controversial situation with regard to nuclear experiments and denuclearization will decide whether the scheduled meeting between the two parties will take place.
“We’ll see what happens” the US President said at the press conference.
