At this meeting, a decision will be taken about whether SLFP will continue to be in the Good Governance Government. Group of 16 MPs recently separated from the government is urging the president to separate SLFP from the present government and sit in the opposition.
The group is attempting to remove SLFP general secretary Duminda Dissanayake and UPFA general secretary Mahinda Amaraweera from their positions. They mention that they will take a decision about it at the meeting. The group expects to suggest that the party remove them.
Their expectation is to acquire the two general secretary positions and thereby guide the party to take a decision to separate from the government.
