It is uncertain what type of a situation will arise in the country by giving the power to a few persons and therefore, everyone’s agreement should be acquired to amend the constitution in a meaningful manner, he further mentioned.
Speaking at the press conference, Vice-president of Jathika Hela Urumaya and Minister of Science, Technology, Research, Skills Development and Vocational Training Karunatathna Paranavithana said that a democratic presidential system is necessary for a stable country.
