Jayanthi Kuru Uthumpala climbed Mount Everest in 2016 and she is the first Sri Lankan who summited Mount Everest.
Although he attempted to climb Mount Everest in 2016, he was not able to summit since oxygen in his oxygen tank ran out. Johann Peiris successfully summited Island Peak in Nepal in 2012.
