He went onto say that similar units would be opened island wide, and that another project was underway to build children’s hospitals in Kalutara, Jaffna, Ampara, Ragama and Galle.
The minister said he intended to implement the most poor-friendly health service in Sri Lanka. He said that he would be flexible and would disregard politics in serving the people.
According to him, many European countries and the US are assisting to uplift the health service.
A felicitation of the Kalutara general hospital staff and a distribution of wheel chairs also took place.
